Temperatures at Guyra are forecast to range between three and seven degrees.
The game will be the students’ first for about a month, with the uni holiday break, Easter and then the bye last week.
They are yet to register a point but have only had the one game.
That was against Armidale in the first round and saw them go down to the defending champions 33-8.
It was a tough start but they showed a lot of determination, particularly in the second half, and took a lot away from it.
“We learnt a lot from playing against Armidale,” co-coach Jim Boland said.
“They’re the best team in the competition.”
One of the biggest lessons was that they can’t afford to give away as much possession as they did.
It wasn’t, though, as might be expected being first game, from handling errors but more not protecting their own ball.
They also made some poor decisions when they were under pressure.
Not surprisingly, they’ve been working hard on that, with ball retention a big focus.
“Because they’re uni students they’re always learning,” Boland said.
They lack the experienced heads the Blues, Ghosts and even Barbarians have.
The Ghosts were well-beaten by St Albert’s last week but Boland expects them to be a lot better for that run.
“They’ll take some tossing up there,” he said.
Their aim will be to starve the Ghosts of possession.
Boland said they also needed to play their own game.
“When we play against the bigger sides we generally play their game,” he said.
Rather than spreading it wide and playing the more running style that suits their student base.
Fellow students St Albert’s will host the Blues in the other game.
