The chance to rub shoulders with the Hollywood star and a few minutes of fame prompted hundreds to flock to Quirindi’s Royal Theatre to register details and have photos and measurements taken by casting staff.

Filming is expected to start in Werris Creek next Wednesday. After a long wait, this week some of the hopefuls received the call-up they craved.

Quirindi’s Rachelle Good-Neilsen and Jess Wadwell as well as Werris Creek’s Rachel Doak were some of the first to be given the good news.

Ms Good-Neilson, 21, said she was “pretty excited” and hoped to put her school drama skills to good use.

The Jolie fan said if she got the chance she would be keen to meet the A-lister.

Ms Doak said she was “excited, a bit nervous and a bit daunted” to be going on set.

The 25-year-old said she thought her minimalist look on the day may have assisted her in making the cut.

“I just went all natural, hair tied back in a bun, very basic. Back in the 1930s there were no spray tans.” 

Jess Wadwell, 26, was most interested in seeing what goes on behind the scenes.

“I’m excited,” she said.

“I hear it’s good on set.”
