The rain held off long enough for 250 cyclists to take to their bikes on Sunday morning and ride their way through one of four courses before crossing the finish line at Moore Creek.
Event organiser Terry Robinson said it was the biggest event in his four years overseeing it, with a route for every level of cyclist.
“It went perfectly,” Mr Robinson said.
“It was our best one yet.”
To know people recognise and appreciate what these young people are going through and to get them back on track again (is great).
- David Allard
Among the riders was a group from Youth Insearch, who had walked all of Saturday night in Relay for Life before having to borrow bikes for the ride early Sunday morning.
Youth Insearch community coordinator David Allard said the charity would go a long way to helping local kids get back on track.
“It’s hard to put it into words,” he said.
“To know people recognise and appreciate what these young people are going through and to get them back on track again (is great).
“It tells them the community believes in them and they can believe in themselves too.”
