Alexandra Kellahan was last night crowned The Northern Daily Leader Queen of Country Music for 2018 at a gala dinner at the Tamworth Jockey Club.

The Tamworth born and raised 23-year-old, who is studying early childhood and care, took home nearly $13,000 in prizes.

“I look forward to what I can bring to Tamworth in 2018 and I can’t wait to bring what Taylor and Tara have brought to the community,” Ms Kellahan said.

“I was born and raised right here and intend to grow old in Tamworth. I am so thankful for this experience.”
The Princess for 2018 is Cheyanne Conlon, 28, a retail manager, with Miss Congeniality Samantha Duncan and Miss Social Media Julie Fleck.
The outgoing Queen Taylor Fletcher and Princess Tara Grant told the crowd that during their year in the roles that had boot scooted, danced with stars, ridden bikes along the Peel and promoted the Quest and Tamworth.
“I am so proud of the kick-arse women doing things in the region,” Mrs Fletcher said.
Twelve women from the Tamworth area were put through the last phase of the contest’s judging at the formal dinner attended by 130 supporters and family of the entrants.
The night was the culmination of four months of personal development courses organised by the Zonta Club of Tamworth, who has been running the quest for the past two years. This year’s entrants were Alexandra Kellahan, Ashley Ginn, Brittany Meissner, Cheyanne Conlan, Eedi Jenner, Eliza-Jane Simpson, Jade Johnston, Jessica Lloyd, Jessica Ann Kaizer, Julie Fleck, Samantha Duncan and Tamara Ferguson.
