There are regular buses (with additional stops, keep an eye out for the temporary signs) which can get you from wherever you are staying to gigs around town.

Over the 10-days the Festival Express bus service runs. It’s $10 a day or $35 for 10 days for all the rides you want (to all Tamworth venues, most accommodation and even out to Nundle). It will run from Friday January 19 to Sunday January 28. Wrist bands will be available from festival express ticket booth on the corner or Peel and Brisbane Streets, or any bus driver. Taxis (and by festival our local equivalent of Uber) will be up and running.

Taxi ranks can be found throughout the CBD on Brisbane Street, Marius Street and Peel Street. 

It’ll be hot, so walking great distances probably isn’t ideal but if you’re fleet of foot you can reach most gigs in town within 10-15 minutes. Much of it under the shade of the big verandahs and trees down Peel St.

TRECC and AELEC are probably an hour or more from the CBD on foot.

You’re unlikely to strike a traffic jam, even with 50,000 more people in town, but it can take a while to get around. And the parking might be a little light on. 

There are also venues within a 20 minute drive of the CBD and those further afield such as Nundle and Manilla are going to take you up to an hour, so plan ahead.
