The Newell Highway is closed in both directions at Coonabarabran due to a truck fire around two kilometres north of the Oxley Highway.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Motorists can use the Oxley Highway and the Kamilaroi Highway via Gunnedah as an alternative route, but will need to allow extra travel time.
Emergency services are on site and traffic crews are also responding.
