With one round of the Laurie Daley Cup remaining before the semi-finals, the Tigers need to beat Northern Rivers in Grafton on Saturday, and hope competition leaders Newcastle defeat North Coast to Wingham the same day, to make the playoffs.
But Tigers coach Peter Stevens said his side were only worried about beating Northern Rivers.
Greater Northern are coming off a last-start 30-22 win over North Coast at Armidale.
Stevens said the Tigers had improved each match and he wanted to see them harmonise for longer periods of time against Northern Rivers. They had lead North Coast 20-0.
“Tomorrow [Saturday] we just need to put two halves of footy together,” he said. “It’s not about the scoreline. The scoreline will look after itself if we go about it the right way.”
In the earlier under-16 Andrew Johns Cup clash, the Tigers will advance to the semi-finals with a win over Northern Rivers.
