More than 13,000 people signed a petition calling for the redevelopment.
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson lodged the petition on Tuesday.
“I was very proud to be able to lodge this petition,” Mr Anderson said.

The petition with be discussed on the floor of the NSW State Parliament on Thursday March 15.
