Sinclair had five runners go around at the hometown meeting with none of the five finishing outside the top three. The trainer scored two wins, two seconds and a third on the day.
The two winners were McRae in the WJ Matthews Maiden Plate and the Muggleton Cranes Class 1 & Maiden Plate.
“Obviously pleased with both of them but McRae just came back from a leg injury so I’m really happy to see him perform well,” Sinclair said.
The race was McRae’s first after 12 months on the sidelines with a tendon injury.
Sinclair said he now hoped to give the four-year-old gelding another start this Saturday.
“I’ve actually nominated him for Gunnedah this Saturday because he had no travel and has pulled up well,” Sinclair said.
Safe Harbour’s win was the mare’s second in 11 starts and a bit of a breakthrough for the horse and trainer pairing.
“She had been a bit disappointing. She won a maiden in her first start for me and I’d expected her to have won another before Saturday,” Sinclair said.
“So I was pleased she won well on Saturday and it was a good ride [by Ben Looker].”
