The market showed a stronger trend with cows improving on last week’s sale.
Gunnedah stock agent Chris Korff said this weeks market was “a great market.”
“Today’s market saw a quality yarding with a lot of yearling cattle in it," Mr Korff said.
“The market showed a stronger trend throughout, with cows up by up to 20 cents dearer than the previous week.”
The Ray White stock agent said one vendor had a very successful day at the sale.
“There was some re-stocker cows in the market,” he said.
“Lighter black angus cows they went up to 265 cents a kilo and it was a terrific sale for that vendor.”
Mr Koff said recent rain in Queensland had effected current bull prices.
“Today’s bull prices met with a stronger turn due to the increased rain in Queensland,” he said.
“They topped at 238 for your best heaviest bull, with the average around 215.”
“Overall it was a great market here today in Gunnedah.”
The weekly Gunnedah cattle sale kicks off again next Tuesday February 13.
