The Grey Fergie Tractor Muster free community breakfast was once again very successful.
Ninety breakfasts were cooked and locals and visitors mingled in true Aussie spirit.
Thank you to the Bendemeer Bowling Club for the use of their facilities.
A flag raising ceremony was held at 9.30am in the beer garden of the picturesque Bendemeer Hotel.
Aussie Balladeer Michael Clare led the crowd in singing the National Anthem and We Are Australian and then entertained us with songs from his album.
The Tamworth Regional Council representative, Councillor Mark Rodda, gave a very meaningful address on what Australia Day meant to him and it was well received by the crowd.
The crowd then settled in to enjoy, and participate in, the planned activities.
The cross cut sawing always draws a crowd.
Billy Boiling was very popular and we had a number of entrants in the junior section.
Coo-ee calling for juniors and seniors was well patronised also.
Tug-O-War was held on the banks of the Macdonald River.
Another successful Australia Day celebration for Bendemeer.
