Allan Caswell has written hits for the industry’s legends along with his own and it was only fitting that he had his place among the stars in the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame.
Mr Caswell’s exhibit was unveiled in Tamworth on Friday where some of his closest country music friends gathered for the moment.
His exhibit includes his beloved bowler hat along with a guitar which helped him pen his first four Golden Guitar winning songs.
“It’s special,” Mr Caswell said.
“It shows how long I’ve been doing it for, there’s a photo of me without a beard and I can’t remember how long it’s been since I haven’t had one.”
“I’m really big on the history of it all. I’m right next to Denise Morrison who has been my close friend for as long as I can remember.”
Mr Caswell said he was pleased Australian country music had a permanent tribute in Tamworth.
“It’s a really special thing,” he said. “It means people who go to Tamworth during the year and not just to the Festival can get a feel for Tamworth for what it really is.”
Hall of Fame vice chairwoman Lorraine Pfitzner said Mr Caswell’s exhibit was one of many new features.
”Everybody who is in there is very important to the industry,” she said. “While some are not here anymore others, like Allan, are and are still continuing their wonderful work.”
