THE Menangle harness meeting on Tuesday saw a very rare happen in the second race.
Reinsman Darren Binskin was celebrating his birthday and received a surprise in the Christmas Club Menangle Trotters Mobile when behind Scenic Sky.
With 150m to go, Binskin lost his helmet in the home straight. Stewards were all across it with a $400 fine to Binskin for failing to secure the clasp.
There was one consolation for Binskin – he finished third in the race.
