New England candidates to go head-to-head in debate hosted by Tamworth Business Chamber

THE Tamworth Business Chamber is asking the community to submit questions for a meet the candidates debate.

The chamber has organised the forum to take place at the Tamworth Town Hall on Monday, November 20, at 6pm. The December 2 byelection has the largest field of candidates the New England electorate has ever seen, with 17 contenders.

The chamber’s spokeswoman, Jill Stewart, said the free community event would give the region’s voters a chance to get up close and personal with the candidates.

“We’re inviting all candidates to attend and asking them to get in touch with us to confirm their involvement,” she said.

The forum will be moderated by ABC North West New England radio host, Kelly Fuller.

Everyone is invited to attend. Questions for the candidates can be emailed to the chamber. Ms Stewart said places were limited and encouraged people register their interest with the chamber early.
