Tamworth Rugby Club is calling for nominations for the second installment of it’s popular Tamworth Summer 7’s competition.

Set to kick-off on November 24, the competition will run over three Thursday nights concluding with a grand final on Friday December 22 coinciding with the club Christmas party and sponsors night.
“It started (last year) very much as an inter-club activity to keep fit but turned out to be a good month long tournament. The standard was pretty good and everyone seemed to enjoy it,” spokesman Tim McLean said.
The women’s competition particularly “was huge”.
They ran a 14s, 16s and opens competition, and are envisaging doing the same again. The men’s competition will just be opens.
One of the biggest drawcards McLean believes is it’s “something different”.
It is also very social.
Cost is $50, which covers insurance and jersey. Interested players can nominate via email – tamworthsummer7s@gmail.com.au or alternatively at the sign-on days next Wednesday and Thursday, with nominations closing on November 3.
