Emergency services were called to the Chaffey Ln address at Tintinhull just before 2am to reports of a house fire.
At least 20 firefighters from the Rural Fire Service along with NSW Fire and Rescue Crews arrived at the scene to find the weatherboard home well alight.
Tamworth zone RFS Superintendent Allyn Purkiss said about “90 per cent” of the home was destroyed.
The occupant of the property managed to escape without serious injury.
“We responded multiple brigades, when the first units arrived they found the house fully evolved except one back section,” Mr Purkiss said.
“They did what they could to save the house and the outlying structure.
“They worked pretty hard and saved most of the outlying structures, but unfortunately the house was 90 per cent destroyed.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation by police, but it’s not believed to be suspicious.
