More than 2000 young people from 46 schools are expected to take part in the CAPERS 2017 event, which is being held at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre on November 3 and 4.
The biennial event is set to feature a range of performing arts displays including a massed choir of 200 voices: dances including tap, ballet, modern and contemporary: a concert band and musical performances of 80 players: as well as individual items of song, dance and drama.
Event coordinator Di Hall said the event was shaping up to be another success.
“Confidence and team work are the two biggest skills they learn,” she said.
“As far as arts are concerned the students don’t normally get the opportunity to perform in a large, professional arena so it’s a big thing for them.
“It’s an amazing opportunity for country kids.”
Mrs Hall said final rehearsals were now under way for the big event, with choreographers and teachers working around the clock for the mass performances.
There’ll also be featured performers on the night, with many past stars of CAPERS, including Roshani Priddis and Chasing Bailey, going on to successful careers in the entertainment industry.
Those wanting to purchase tickets to the event can visit the Tamworth Entertainment Venues website for more information.
