Coming Your Way was released on September 29 at the Deni Ute Muster with the title track becoming the first single off the new release.
The album follows up McAlister’s second solo outing and ABC music debut Black Sky and the number one Country album with his country superstar mates from Adam Brand and the Outlaws.
McAlister was at the top of the charts from 2007 to 2014 with Troy Kemp as part of the award winning country music duo McAlister Kemp.
The popular country boy duo were taking the Aussie country music scene by storm, travelling right around Australia to sell out crowds night after night.
But a highlight was when they opened for the legendary Alan Jackson on his sold out Australian tour before travelling to Nashville to play at CMA Fest.
McAlister said the latest album was something he was very proud of.
“I’m feeling pretty good, it’s been a long time in the making,” he said.
“It really exciting and this album is something I’m really proud of.
“A lot of people wouldn’t know this is my third solo album, it’s not the first time I’ve gone out on my own. It feels, good, it feels right and I co wrote eight of the tracks and sourced a couple.
A lot of people go about their struggles in Australia but they don’t complain and want to stay out of the spotlight. – I know a lot about it I’ve been one of them.

“I always felt co writing was the best way to get the most out of a song.”
While writing the song Coming Your Way, McAlister said he had a positive message in mind.
”The message of this song is essentially this is what we call life,” he said. “A lot of people go about their struggles in Australia but they don’t complain and want to stay out of the spotlight. – I know a lot about it, I’ve been one of them.
“It felt like the right thing to say, you’re not alone, I can see you’re struggling and eventually you’ll get through it, there’ll be a light at the end of the tunnel.”
Not only was the first single a positive one, but McAlister said the album was viewed in that way too.
“I played it to a friend of mine recently who really put it out there that it was a very positive album” he said, “I never kind of thought of that way, but that was my frame of mind when i made it. It’s definitely a positive album, I can’t think of one negative song.”
With less than 100 days until the Tamworth Country Music Festival, McAlister is also gearing up for a big one after missing last year’s event.
