The Walk for Freedom will be held in Tamworth on Saturday, October 14.
Operated by global anti-human trafficking organisation A21, the walk is aimed to raise awareness about the millions of men, women, and children who are still trapped in slavery today.
Participants will walk in single-file lines, wearing black shirts and yellow bandanas across their mouths, to give a voice to every victim’s story.
Those who wish to participate in the Tamworth event are invited to meet near the Hopscotch Restaurant on Kable Ave at 9.30am.
There are an estimated 4300 slaves in Australia, according to the Walk Free Foundation’s 2016 Global Slavery Index.
