I’m getting busier and busier as the year goes on.

Since returning from America, I attended the Toyota Hats Off To Country festival and did a run of shows in Armidale, Tamworth and Narrabri with Melinda Schneider, and also performed at the Longyard Hotel launching my EP in Tamworth, then started planning for the next festival.
I also jumped up and sang a duet of We Were Us (Keith Urban/Miranda Lambert) with the Viper Creek Band – they’re so full of energy. All these things made it awesome for me.
Before I move on, I wanted to say a huge thank you to Melinda and her team for having me on board. It was amazing to learn from a great artist and see what she does and be a part of everything.
I felt so welcome and everyone was so lovely, no matter how much sleep we’d all had the night before, or long the drive was! Tour life hey.. I had a blast.
This month I drove all the way from Sydney to the Central Coast, a whole hour and a half!! I have to say, this is probably the closest festival out of all of them this year. I do love driving but it’s nice to have one so close to home. Thanks so much to the Central Coast festival for having Toyota Star Maker every year.
You will catch me at the Gympie Muster this weekend but look for me in the program and on social media with exact details of where I’ll be performing and come and say hello.
On the last day of Gympie I’m heading back to Sydney to sing a few songs at the Orange Blossom Festival in the Hills and also judge something special with Lee Kernaghan.
Aside from the festivals lined up this year, I’ve also been giving back to the community of people that started my musical journey, the talent quest world.
I think they are so great to do for experience and I can confidently say, if I didn’t do the talent quest scene growing up, I wouldn’t know half the tricks and secrets I know now.
I have put my hand up to judge a few competitions which is so exciting, including the talent quest I mentioned above at the Orange Blossom Festival. I get to see all the kids wanting to do music make their start. It could be the beginning stages of something special? Who knows.
Now, we musicians sometimes need to take some time off. But when I take time off I like to go and watch my friends play, which is what I did on the 3rd. I went and saw the beautiful Arna Georgia launch her EP. She is one talented gal, and such a down-to-earth person. It was a great night, filled with folk-influenced songs. Check her out.
