Tamworth police are appealing for public assistance after a bag was snatched from an elderly lady in broad daylight.

About 10.20am Sunday, a 79-year-old woman was in the car park of a shopping centre in Petra Avenue, South Tamworth, when she was approached by two youths on mountain bikes.
Police allege one of these youths grabbed her purse from her hand and continued riding.
The pair was last seen in the vicinity of Hyman Park, Thompson Crescent, South Tamworth.
Police were contacted and are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have any information about suspicious activity in the area at the time, to come forward.
The youths are described as being of Aboriginal appearance and aged about 14 years.
The were wearing dark clothing at the time.
