However I'm also concerned about the size of meals served these days in hotels, clubs and some restaurants. I find they are often too large and I and many of my friends find it very difficult to eat all the food there.
I'm suggesting venues could additionally supply an economy version of their normal current meals in an effort to help deal with the problem of obesity which is of real concern these days. Many folks will eat the entire meal, even though they have passed the point where they feel full.
Some have the idea that, "I have paid for it, so I'm going to eat all of it. Or others have been brought up to believe that you don't leave any food on the plate. Or made to feel guilty or ungrateful if they leave food.
This can be despite the fact they may feel full, and will eat past that point because of their beliefs. The venues could supply half sized meals at say 2 thirds the cost.
In some venues you can order one meal and 2 plates and divide the meal between 2 people, but many folks don't want to be bothered with that.
I think economy sized meals would encourage many to simply eat until they are full then stop. This would be a very positive initiative on the part of the venues towards better community health..
