Challenge Recycling Services said they could expand their business with the facility a collection point for people to drop off their cans, bottles and drink containers.
However industry representatives were waiting on the announcement of government appointed scheme coordinators.
“We need to set up two depots in Tamworth because of the size of the place,” Recycling centre manager Victor Collett said. “One will be here and one will be in Taminda.”
Under the scheme, set to begin on December 1, people in NSW will be able to return most empty beverage containers between 150 ml and three litres to collection points for a 10-cent refund.
