We cleared just on $4,500 after covering all costs - the best running day we have ever had.
The weekend produced record crowds and record income from our trains, Loco Cafe and the Toot Toot Club, sending us well on our way to paying off our latest project, the purchase of a near-finished 37 Class steam locomotive. It will take some months to get it on the track, but it will add to public excitement behind what will be our second club steam loco.
We enter the new financial year with over $17k in the bank to dedicate to track and train maintenance, plus covering our annual insurance costs. Our AGM is at the track on Saturday 5th August.
Our next public running day is Sunday 16th July from 10am to 3pm at the track in the Botanic Gardens precinct at the top end of Piper Street. We run on the third Sunday of every month and are always looking for new members to volunteer as we become busier as the community learn of this wonderful asset. Thanks again to all involved.
