Tamworth Regional Council endorsed its community strategic plan for the next decade this week.
The document is fuelled by feedback from the community and, true to form, residents and ratepayers are keen to see council invest into the road network.
“That’s the big ticket the community consistently seeks revenue and money to be spent on,” mayor Col Murray said.
“We saw, on the sealed road network, around $20 million-plus being allocated.
“And about $4.8 million for unsealed roads, so they’re certainly the big tickets as far as roads go.”
Council will also make a funding splash for new public toilets and enforce a new graffiti management scheme as part of the community strategic plan.
“We want the community to know that we have listened,” Cr Murray said.
The endorsement of the revised plan will also bring a $3.48 million investment in regional tourism.
There were over 1500 responses received in council’s various engagement activities calling for comment and input for the document
