Gunnedah RTA is one of 24 registries across the state to be transformed into a Service NSW centre – a “one-stop shop for government services” – as part of the recent budget announcements.
He said a proposed completion date for the project is set for 2019, but he wants to see it finished by the end of 2017.
A Service NSW centre would include information and services for transport; roads and traffic; births, deaths and marriages; legal information and services; business and trades; environment, land and water; health and wellbeing; education and training; emergencies and safety; culture, sport and recreation; civic rights and responsibilities; housing and property; and legal information and services.
Mr Anderson is also pushing for a transportation opal card station to be introduced at the centre. He will meet with finance minister Victor Dominello in the next few weeks.
