The esteemed singer-songwriter will perform a Hats Off To Country Music Festival dinner show at the North Tamworth Bowlo on Friday, July 8 from 7pm. It’s a special evening of stories and songs and a two-course meal for $35.
“This show is one of my favourite things,” he said.
“It’s an intimate show, I get to tell the stories and inspiration that inspires me to put pen to paper and then come up with a melody to support it. It makes for a really engaging evening and people also get to know the background of my songs.”
It’s not the first time O’Shea has performed a dinner show, and last year’s Hats Off event inspired him to do it all over again.
“It was a great success, the food was exceptional, it made for a remarkable evening and I can’t wait to repeat it,” he said.
“For an artist aswell, you’re reminded of why you wrote these songs and get to dig a little deeper and translate it to the audience – it turns into a really powerful experience.”
For O’Shea, Tamworth “is family” and he enjoys the camaraderie of artists and the bond he has between himself and his audience. He said pre-production is now underway for his new album and guests to his Tamworth show will be able to get a sneak peek into the new release.
“I’ll definitely be showcasing and telling the stories behind the new album, I’m very excited to delve deep into those because that’s when the songs come alive,” he said.
”Based on the responses from the audiences you can tweak a word or two and find what connects with them deeply. This is a classic example of how important this festival is, to showcase new songs and get that feedback in a special, intimate space.”
