Companions coach Gavin Thompson couldn’t help but ponder what could have been.
“We’re just inventing ways to make defensive errors to let other teams score,” Thompson said.
In saying that, Thompson wasn’t displeased with the final outcome.
“We knew they were going to be tough, they’re not up around the top [of the ladder] for no reason, they're a good side,” he said.
“It was a pleasing result for us, we played well, little disappointed we couldn't get the three points, I thought we probably deserved them.”
Thompson said a young gun was the pick of the players on the day.
“Harry Pollack won the player's player, it was great for him to come in and play like that,” he said.
Elsewhere, Tamworth beat OVA 1-0, DK won 6-0 against Joeys and East Armidale won 5-2 over South Armidale.
