There is no more iconic car brand in the world than Ferrari, and local man Roddy Wyllie is lucky enough to have one of the red Italian stallions, a 1976 Ferrari Dino 308 GT4, in his stable.
“There’s no one in the world that wouldn’t know the name Ferrari and what it stands for – they are beautifuly engineered cars,” Mr Wyllie said.
“It is an incredibly comfortable to drive, and very capable when it is being used properly. This one gets 255 brake horse power and still rides as it did when it was new.”
The 308 GT4 is one of only three Ferrari’s in the Tamworth region, and Mr Wyllie loves nothing more than taking it out on a long winding road to get a true understanding of the machine’s capabilities.
Ferrari’s 70th birthday will be officially celebrated in Australia at October’s Motorclassica Car Show in Melbourne.
