The Thunderbolts started the day with a two-point win over Bathurst before facing Newcastle in the final where they fell 98-67.
“We came up against a pretty tough and well-drilled opposition in Newcastle but the boys showed plenty of character and played a good quality game of basketball,” caretaker coach John Ireland said.
“Their size and depth was just too much.”
Tamworth played the final without Will Hanson (head knock) and Ireland was pleased with the effort from his side in both games.
The under-14 boys also played on the final day of the tournament after making the division one finals.
The Thunderbolts met Queanbeyan in the semi-final and put in a big effort like they had all weekend but went down 79-41.
