The Red Devils sit a point clear of the Blue Boars but do have a couple of injury concerns, with centre Aisea Raitala out and number eight Sanimo Navatu not likely to play either. Will Archer will start for him, and while he isn’t physically as imposing, his direct running was one of the catalysts for the Red Devils turning things around against Inverell last week.
Coach Jason Waerea was happy with the way they toughed it out, but has called for their work at the breakdown to be a bit sharper.
He spoke about being “nice, fast and clean” over the top. They’ll also have to be on their game in defence.
The Blue Boars showed they “clearly can attack” by putting 29 points on Walcha.
“We need to make sure our forwards own their defensive roles around the ruck,” Waerea said.
Kahl brothers Sam and Daniel will pair up in the second row for the Blue Boars, with Mitch Wheaton pushing back to number eight.
