The reigning premiers have only one home win this season and are fighting hard to remain relevant in Group 4 Second Division, after three wins from the opening nine rounds.
With Werris Creek in eighth place on the ladder eight points behind competition leaders Kootingal-Moonbi, their co-coach Ron Dellar said it was time the side stopped the rot.
He hopes the 28-26 comeback win away to Walcha last round will serve as a form slingshot. “We got back to winning, so hopefully we’re on the right track again,” he said. “We thought about it last night (at training) – let’s keep going.”
In other Group 4 Second Division matches on Saturday, Barraba host Dungowan, Walcha travel to Bundarra, Boggabri confront Bendemeer at Jubilee Oval and Manilla welcomes Kootingal-Moonbi.
