Local woman killed
POLICE have confirmed a 34-year-old Inverell woman was killed in Tuesday’s crash.

The Toyota Camry Sedan was travelling along Elsmore Rd about 9.10am when the car left the road and struck a tree.
“An oncoming motorist witnessed the accident,” New England Chief Inspector Rowan O’Brien told The Leader.
“At this stage the circumstances surrounding the crash are not completely know and investigations are continuing.”
Chief Inspector O’Brien said police are trying to determine why the car left the road, but no other vehicle was believed to be involved.
“The road was closed for approximately five hours while investigations were carried out by police including the Forensic Services Group from Tamworth,” he said.
“A report will now be prepared for the coroner.”
The road reopened on Tuesday afternoon.
Police still on scene
ONE person has been killed in a crash near Inverell.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of an accident on Elsmore Rd about 9.30am on Tuesday.
One person died at the scene, police confirmed.
The road remains closed and a crime scene has been established with specialist police expected to examine the area.
Inverell Shire Council said motorists are urged to avoid the area and advised drivers to use Dodds Ln or Loves Ln.
A report will now be prepared for the coroner.
Meanwhile, emergency services were also called to reports of a crash on Copeton Dam Rd on Wednesday morning.
Police said one person suffered minor head injuries.
Investigations into both crashes are continuing.
