And its been a long time coming for the New England, with initial planning starting almost a decade ago.
Construction commenced in January, and the foundations are now in place for the first of the 75 wind turbines.
Construction crews completed an almost 600-cubic-metre concrete pour of the first turbine base earlier this month.
The first base is a 21metre-diameter, 3.7-metre deep hexagonal-shaped concrete foundation.
Each foundation requires approximately 590 cubic metres of concrete, which equates to approximately 100 truckloads from the on-site concrete batching plant.
The entire construction period is expected to last between 18 months and two years.
Turbines are due to start arriving in September, and they will be the biggest in Australia.
