MELANIE Bolwell continues to be monitored in hospital after she suffered bleeding on the brain from a three-jockey fall at Warialda on Saturday.

The event saw Tamworth jockey Darren Jones fall when aboard Montague Clan in the third race of the Warialda Cup, the horse coming down along with True Commitment (Bolwell) and Achanizo (Leanne Henry).
The three were taken to Warialda Hospital, with Jones and Bolwell unconscious when transferred, while Henry complained of general soreness.
On Monday, Racing NSW advised that Bolwell’s parents and boyfriend were by her bedside at the Gold Coast Hospital.
She suffered bleeding on her brain, which the doctors will monitor for 72 hours before deciding if surgery is required. Bolwell is able to open her eyes momentarily, but is being kept sedated.
Henry suffered a broken collarbone and concussion from the fall and is likely to be out of action for six weeks.
Racing NSW's Dr David Duckworth will monitor Bolwell’s treatment.
