It was their final trial and Summers’ final chance to test out combinations and get a look at the new faces to the club, although he probably got a bit of a closer look than he would have liked, having to pull on the boots.
“We’re building. Saturday was definitely an improvement from the first two trial games,” he said.
“(But) We still need some work.”
One area they need to address is their set pieces.
“Our lineout wasn’t that good,” he said.
On the flip side their defence was really good.
“That’s the thing that stood out to me the most,” he said.
“It’s something we’ve been working on since the first game and has improved dramatically.
“We stuck to our tackles and our defensive realignment was much better.”
He said up until now they have been training as a club, but is hoping to settle on a first grade squad this week.
