Melbourne Rebels coach Tony McGahan selected the creative halfback on an extended 10-man interchange bench for an away clash against the Highlanders in Dunedin.
The bench will be reduced by two players come game-time at Forsyth Barr Stadium.
Snowden has made just the two appearances for the Victorian-based club since crossing from the Western Force, both coming in 2016.
The Rebels are doing it tough this season, having lost its opening four matches by an average margin of 30.75 points.
McGahan believes a win is not far away.
"I've been pleased with the progress we have made over the last two weeks, however our contribution at the backend of these games has resulted in losses. So we need to make sure we apply those lessons and play the full 80 minutes,” McGahan said.
