A multi-award-winning sell-out hit at festivals around the world, Tubular Bells for Two is now returning home for an Australia tour.
Composed by Mike Oldfield in 1973, the album was the first release on Richard Branson's fledgling record label, Virgin Records. The album went on to sell over 30 million copies, kick-starting the Virgin empire.
Now, more than 40 years on, two young Australian multi-instrumentalists, Aidan Roberts and Daniel Holdsworth, are presenting this modern masterpiece in a challenging live event at Capitol Theatre Tamworth on Friday, April 7 at 8pm.
The duo are literally rushed off their feet as they rush around a sea of instruments. This intricately choreographed, thrilling piece of tightrope theatre will have audience members mesmerised.
A comical tale of an Irish town is coming to Capitol Theatre Tamworth on Tuesday, April 4 at 8pm.
Stones In His Pockets, having played all over the world, including a run in the West End, is now touring Australia in a new production.
The play is an hilarious and moving tale of a quiet Irish community turned upside down by the arrival of a Hollywood movie shoot.
The story of a budding romance between a rich girl and a local farmer within the film being made is counterpointed against the actual growing friction that develops between the locals hired as extras on the film and the Hollywood big shots.
This new production of Stones In His Pockets was created by Critical Stages with the express intention of regional touring.
Over a dozen characters, including the extras, are played by just two actors, throughout the production. Stones In His Pockets is suitable for audiences 14 and over. There is occasional course language and mature themes.
And don’t miss the Gregoryan Brothers on Wednesday, April 5 at Capitol Theatre.
Since their first acclaimed Australian tour in 2002, Slava and Leonard Grigoryan have astounded audiences worldwide with their guitar virtuosity.
Tickets are available at capitoltheatretamworth.com.au or by calling 6766 2028, or visiting the box office at Capitol Theatre and The Big Golden Guitar.
