Bennett is handing in his trainer’s licence after Saturday’s Country Championship Final at Randwick where he had hoped to have a runner.
At this stage unlucky All Summer Long is an emergency for the $400,000 Final which Bennett last year with Clearly Innocent.
The Tamworth-bred gelding finished third in both the Country Championship Qualifier and Sunday’s Wild Card won by Pelerin.
Bennett is taking up a position with Aquis Farm in Queensland and will farewell the Hunter and North West Racing Association.
While he has never won a HNWRA trainers premiership, Bennett has consistently been in the top five and sits second to Paul Perry with 25 wins for this season.
“We will be making a little presentation, a bottle of single malt, to Greg,” confirmed TJC general manager Damon Sullivan.
“It’s his last meeting in the HNWRA and he’s been a big supporter of us here. He always lets the punters have a bet with confidence when he has one engaged.
“Greg’s also a very down to earth bloke.”
The Scone trainer has four runners – Cool Baby (R1), Arabian (R6), Sadhika (R7) and Taste Of Money (R8).
They will be racing on what Sullivan hopes will be a soft track despite 50mm of rain during the past week.
He added the rail will be out 3m to protect the track for the April 30 Tamworth Cup meeting.
Tuesday’s nine-race card jumps at 12.45pm.
