The line-up consisting of Toby Cooper, Tom Gill, Taryn Maher and Jock McPherson, finished second in the Inter Academy Challenge as part of the Peter O’Malley Junior Tournament.
Hunter Academy of Sport took the top prize, although it was an impressive effort from NIAS which finished seven shots adrift in the stroke format.
In the individual event, Gill finished equal third in the 36-hole scratch boys competition with a score of 152, seven shots adrift of winner Jones Comerford (Dubbo).
Gill fired an opening round 70 to hold sway through 18 holes, but followed up with an 82 to slide a couple of spots down the leaderboard.
Cooper and McPherson shared a tie for 30th place, while Gunnedah talent Maher placed 17th in the girls competition.
The golfers will now prepare for next month's Club NSW Academy Games to be held on the Central Coast.
