The club is hosting an information evening for women interested in flying on Thursday, and club president Adele Mazoudier believes the sky is the limit for women with wings.
“The night is an annual initiative to encourage women to consider flying as a sport and recreational activity but to also consider it as a career,” Mrs Mazoudier said.
“We want the girls, and boys, to be aware of how many different fields are available in an aviation career.”
Those fields include commercial and domestic flying, being an instructor, the defence forces, administration, the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the Rural Fire Service, agriculture and many more.
The night will involve informal talks from a few local female aviators from different industries, some question and answer time, as well as provide a chance for local enthusiasts to meet and have a chat.
While it is aimed at women, men are also welcome to attend.
“It is open for anyone and everyone – we have pilots from as young as 14 to our oldest pilot who is 80,” Mrs Mazoudier said.
“It is a real industry of networks and we can put them in touch with someone somewhere that could mentor or guide them in whatever they want to do.”
The information night will run from 6pm on Thursday.
