After ripping through them for 43, Farrer chased the runs in eight overs to wrest the trophy back from McCarthy with Tom Maloney unbeaten on 24 and Lachie Barton seven.
Toby Whale (2-16) was the only successful bowler for McCarthy, who earlier had no answer to Farrer quicks James McGowan and Cooper Barnes.
“Once we got Jack (Hannaford), Toby and Jye (Paterson) out we put a lot of pressure on their middle order,” Farrer coach Dave Olrich said.
“The boys just bowled too well.”
Hannaford and Jack Murray, both with 10, were the best with the bat. The scoreboard looked pretty ugly with six ducks and a 0no. Farrer did also contribute 18 sundries, but that was really the only blemish.
McGowan (4-8) bowled the best Olrich has seen him bowl. Barnes also finished with four.
