A tow truck managed to right both a car and caravan which flipped about 9am.
Emergency services cleared both lanes near Curlewis and allowed traffic to pass just before midday.
The RMS said there were no delays.
CRASH CLOSES HIGHWAY
THE Kamilaroi Highway remains closed south of Gunnedah after a car and caravan crashed on Sunday morning.
Emergency services including paramedics and police were called to the crash scene about 7km south of Curlewis about 9am.
There were reports one person was trapped in the wreckage.
Police said the car and a caravan were both on their sides, blocking both lanes.
Traffic is being diverted around the crash scene and motorists are warned to allow extra time.
Local diversions are in place for northbound and southbound traffic along Clifton Road, Pullaming Road to Kamilaroi Highway.
