Police allege Matthew James Cutmore was four times the legal limit when he was arrested after a crash in December, last year.
The 36-year-old is employed as the Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer with New England local Area Command, and based in Inverell.
Cutmore’s case was listed for the first time in Inverell Local Court on Thursday morning.
Cutmore, who was represented by Aboriginal Legal Service solicitor Guy Newby, did not enter a plea to the charge of high-range PCA.
Magistrate Michael O’Brien granted Cutmore a two week adjournment.
Police were called to a single car crash just after 10pm on December 11 and breath tested Cutmore at the scene.
When he provided a positive sample, he was arrested and taken to Inverell Police Station where he allegedly blew 0.200.
His licence was suspended.
