With the old velodrome being sold off the Tamworth Cycle Club, and the road & track cycling community in the North West NSW region will finally have a home for both Criterium racing and accessible track racing, that can host major cycling events/Carnivals.
Also the local athletics groups will have a giant boost with a fully synthetic athletics facility so they are able to host regional events.
All great for the local economy and healthier lifestyles.
Perhaps the local swimming/water sports community can also band together once again and lobby with local, state & federal members to fund a re-development of one of the many swimming pools in the Tamworth region for an all year round Aquatic centre.
Would be great to see all sports benefit from the NSW and Federal governments regional infrastructure boost

The discussion has been going on for years within the swimming community Mark. From what I understand the Indoor Aquatic Centre has been 'on the table' for over a decade, possibly two?

Approved years ago. Waited for a political opportune time to make the announcement. Save Kevin Anderson from the greyhound backlash. Cynics.
