The Sixers made it all the way to the final last year but were beaten by Erin Osborne’s Sydney Thunder.
Leys told Trophy Life the side was drawing on that experience.
“Many of us hadn’t been in that situation before so having been there and experienced it, knowing what it’s like with the extra pressure of a grand final, I think that’s beneficial,” Leys said.
The Sixers have taken the honours both encounters between the two sides, but Leys said their focus is very much on what they need to do to get the job done.
“I think the games where we’ve been a bit distracted thinking about the other team is when we haven’t seemed to play as well,” she said.
“When we’re doing what we do best and thinking about our game is when we play our best.”
