Extra officers have been patrolling in and around the Tamworth CBD and have been homing in on offenders.
About 3pm on Tuesday, a 19-year-old and 32-year-old woman entered a Robert St store and are alleged to have stolen a quantity of cosmetic items valued at more than $100.
Police intercepted the pair in a park on Warral Rd where they were questioned and searched and the stolen goods were allegedly recovered.
Both were charged with larceny and the 19-year-old was also charged with breaching her bail.
Earlier that day, officers spotted a 30-year-old woman suspected of stealing goods when she was leaving a Peel St shop.
She was stopped at about 11.30am and clothing worth more than $70 was recovered. Police issued her with a banning notice and she was charged with stealing.
Earlier that day, a 36-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly stealing more than $250 worth of goods from Kmart.
