On Friday, the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre (AELEC) will be transformed in to a sea of pink, as cowboys and punters alike done their finest pink threads in support of women’s cancer.
The Tough Enough To Wear Pink event is a fundraiser and awareness campaign for the Cancer Council.
The colourful event doubles as the Australian Bushmen's Campdraft and Rodeo Association (ABCRA) finals.
All the competitors get into it, with pink spurs, pink horse manes and pink cowboy hats.
The funds raised will go towards women’s cancer research to those with breast cancer – including the 110 local women in the North West region who are diagnosed with the disease every year.
But it’s not just the pro bull riders who get to have all the fun. For the first time a mechanical bull will test any aspiring rodeo stars.
The fun kicks off at 5.30pm and goes until midnight. Tickets are available at the ABCRA website.
