With Gladys Berejiklian taking over as NSW Premier after Mike Baird’s resignation, the former Coalition agreement is redundant.
Mr Barilaro said the Deputy Prime Minister “carved out a fantastic Coalition agreement with the federal Liberals”.
“There are some aspects of that I want to learn and understand,” Mr Barilaro said.
“I’m sick and tired of being lectured to by the Liberals, receiving the crumbs off the Liberal table. The policies that matter and meet the expectations of this community and regional NSW, that’s what I’m driving to.”
The visit is also part of Mr Barilaro’s “listening tour” around NSW to find out what the priority projects are for each regional electorate.
Mr Joyce said while his NSW counterpart “didn’t need his advice”, they did talk about a number of developments in the region that needed state government funding to get off the ground.
