Following on from the release of his latest album Things I Carry Around, the official festival ambassador said he's had a great year, and it's all leading up to his Tamworth concert, Celebrating Australia's Great Showmen and Women on Australia Day at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre.
The 33-time Golden Guitar winner released the album in conjunction with his new book of the same title, this year.
"I really wanted to make sure that the album that I made was a special thing to go equally around the book," he said.
"[For the awards] it was never about the single or the film clip, I purposely tried to nominated two things. I'm a male singer, it's an album I'm really proud of it, so I nominated it in the album as well and I was really chuffed to get the two nom’s and that'll do me.
"The album has been special enough to me at the moment - it's told so many stories that have been really important."
Cassar-Daley will perform a concert extravaganza in Tamworth before he heads off on tour.
"It's always special, I always keep it close to my chest with who's going to be playing. I do love the fact it's always a surprise," he said.
"It's going to be a case of people feeling like our lounge room, it's going to be stripped back - lots of stories and lots of new songs to share with everyone off the new album as well."
*Troy Cassar-Daley and friends, Celebrating Australia’s Great Showmen and Women, will be held at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre on Thursday, January 26. Tickets: Range from $26 to $87.
